Canon Gun Game
This game has 2 steps.[br]First is guessing the Range of Canon Gun.[br]Second is finding the right degree of angle and power to pass beyond the wall. (OR you can try to shoot the top point of the wall with Canon Gun.
How to create the cannonball game
1. We identified the sliders that[br]changes the angle, gravitational acceleration and power of the gun. [br][br][br]2. We draw a circle that has same[br]length of radius with the power of the gun, so we when we change the power of[br]the gun circle will be greater.[br][br][br]3. We draw a vector on the circle with[br]the angle which we identified with slider, so when we change the angle vector[br]still be on the circle and angle will change too.[br][br][br]4. We find the perpendicular lines from[br]the point B which is the end point of vector to the x-axis and y-axis. Thus, we[br]found the Vy, and Vx which are the horizontal and vertical speed of the particle[br]that we throw with the gun.[br][br][br]5. We identified the time as t with a[br]slider and the end point of the slider fixed with the formula of t[sub]fly[/sub]=2.V.sin(α)/g or 2.Vy/g[br][br][br]6. Height also identified the physic[br]formula of H(x)=V.sin(α).t-1/2gt[sup]2[/sup][br]and graph of it drawn.[br][br][br]7. Range of the particle has calculated the formula[br]M(x)=Vx.t[br][br][br]8. Then the Throw button and reset button identified.[br][br][br]9. The rest of the game is actually decoration. You can[br]change it however you want.[br][br][br][br][br][br][br]
Purposes
The main purpose is to create a game based on some significant mathematical content. Depending on this, the tool is created. As you can observe, it can be used in middle school level as an estimation tool for an approximate degree of an angle and its relations with the length of the line segment in front of this angle. Moreover, this cannonball game paves a way for internalizing and practicing some points of the trigonometry concept in high school level. In detail, it can be applied for explaining the position of sinQ through a projectile motion.
