Teaching and learning probability and statistics with GeoGeb

GeoGebra is a really good application for solving different statistical problems, and to teach and learn probability and statistic!

This example is a comparative analysis of the handwriting of the students from elementary schools from Ohrid, R.Macedonia. The statistical question is: "Does gender has influence on student' handwriting?" To answer this question, two populations (lists) are created - boys and girls. Using statistical tools in GeoGebra, the mean, median and standard deviation for each population are calculated and then the so-called t-test is performed. Also, the frequency tables and relative frequency histogram are drawn. After analyzing the results, the conclusion is made: by conventional criteria, there is not statistically significant difference between two populations, which means that the gender doesn't have influence on the handwriting of the students.
