Introduction

“Mathematics A” is course for freshmen of the School of Engineering of the National University of La Plata (UNLP), Argentina. In this course, contents of Differential Calculus in one and more variables are treated. When working with functions of one variable, the possibility of graphing different kind of functions, continuous and with different kind of discontinuities, is helpful for understanding. However, when working with functions of two variables (or more) graphing in 3D space becomes very difficult, and students usually work only algebraically.
