We are going to discuss the angles created when two lines are intersected by a transversal, when two parallel lines are intersected by a transversal, when one set of parallel lines are intersected by another set of parallel lines, and each of these scenarios with line segments instead of lines.

Suppose you have two oblique lines and a transversal. We want to be able to discuss how angles relate to each other. In order to do this, we have to name their positions. How could we talk about an angle if we don't know where they are?
