Visualising the span of two vectors

A [i]linear combination [/i]of two vectors [b]u[/b], [b]v[/b] is a vector of the form α[sub]1[/sub][b]u[/b] + α[sub]2[/sub][b]v[/b], where α[sub]1[/sub], α[sub]2[/sub] ∈ ℝ are constants. The [i]span [/i]of two vectors, span{[b]u[/b],[b]v[/b]}, is the set of all possible linear combinations of the vectors.[br][br]This applet shows two vectors [b]u[/b] and [b]v[/b] in ℝ[sup]3[/sup]. Click "Plot some linear combinations" to generate some random linear combinations of the two vectors. Click and drag the plot to change the view. What do you notice about all the vectors?
