Reflect Polygons on the Coordinate Plane

In this GeoGebra lab, you are going to change the location of the polygons by using a geometric technique called reflection.[br][br]1. Record the coordinates of the vertices of each of the three polygons.[br][br]2. Select the REFLECT OBJECT ABOUT LINE tool. First click on the blue quadrilateral and then click anywhere on the purple line segment AB. You have created what geometers call “a reflection of the quadrilateral CDEF about the line of reflection AB.” Think of the line of reflection like a mirror. You have created a mirror-image of the quadrilateral.
3. Now record the coordinates of the vertices of each of the reflected polygons. [br][br]4. Conclusion: Describe any patterns you see resulting from the reflection.[br][br][br]Shared by JDGittinger[br]Questions edited by geometer
