3.8 Slope Intercept Equation Practice

Look at the graph of the line and determine its slope and y-intercept. Then complete the equation of the line shown by entering the values for slope (m) and y-ntercept (b) into the textboxes in the incomplete equation. When the equation is correct the green text on the bottom will change from "Keep trying..." to "Correct!". If you get stuck, you can see the answer by checking the show answer box. When you are ready to try another line click the New Line button. Try to successfully write 3-5 equations. A few things to note about this interactive: You will need to press enter or click outside of the textbox before the applet will recognize your entry. Also, even though you wouldn't usually write an equation with a coefficient of 1, -1, or 0, you will need to enter these values if applicable. For example, you might not normally write an equation as y = 1x + 0, but you will need to enter both the 1 and the 0 in order to have your equation recognized.
