Reflections Intro

Today we will be reflecting shapes around different lines. As we work, notice the distance between each point and the line of reflection

Reflect around the line x=0. Note: x=0 is the same line as the y-axis.

Follow-up

The distance from Point A to the line of reflection was a distance of 2. What was the distance from point A' to the line of reflection? Also, what was the similar about the x-value of Points A and A'?

Now reflect over the x-axis. Try to draw some conclusions about this transformation.

Now try reflecting across other vertical and horizontal lines by using the line tool. Once again, count the distance from each point to the line of reflection.
