other nonsense

Combining 'Vitruvian man' and 'Golden section' you'll soon get some nonsense and contradictions, all based on the same claim that da Vinci based his drawing on the Golden Section.[br][list][*]The picture on the left 'shows' that de navel (and center of the circle) lies at [math]\frac{1.618}{1+1.618}=0.618=\varphi[/math] of the length of the man. Previous activities proved it isn't so.[/*][*]The picture on the right contradicts the [math]\varphi[/math]-claim for the navel, showing a correct construction of the golden rectangles. Only... The upper side of the largest square in the picture doesn't go through the navel. So the picture clearly shows that the navel lies lower. [br]So what doe the pictures illustrate? Not one of the vertical or horizontal sides of a rectangle correspond with the divisions marked by da Vinci (e.g. for the knee, the root of the penis, the upper side of the breast of the division of the arms. [br]If the drawin is illustrating something than it must be that the golden section is irrelevant in the drawing.[br][/*][/list]
