Secant Secant Angle Relationships

This applet is designed to help students gather data to discover the arc/angle relationships when two secants intersect a circle.

Move points R, Q, S, and T to change the size of the intercepted arcs. Record the measures of arc RS, arc QT, and <QPT. Then look for relationships between the measures of the arcs and the value of the angle. Check for relationships like adding the measures of the arcs, subtracting the arcs, the average of the arcs, diving measurements in half, angles being supplementary, complementary, or adding to 360.
