Trisect Challenge

Directions
Use Geogebra to find the trisect (one-third) point of a given segment[br][br]• The given segment AB must be the first object created on the screen[br]• Use MEASURE to demonstrate that your method works[br]• You may not use the feature called “dilate” in the transformations menu. All other menu items (such as[br]“construct midpoint” or “construct perpendicular” are fair game.)[br]• Email your solutions as soon as you get them to: kweber@headroyce.org or jfuentes@headroyce.org[br]• There are numerous ways to trisect a segment. You may hand in more than one solution. We will let you know if you found a truly new method or if you basically did the same thing again in a slightly different way. [br][br]Scoring [br]You need to find 4 possible methods for trisections for full credit.[br]Any additional methods will be counted towards extra credit. [br][br] Your submissions should SHOW all your circles[br]and segments. [br][br]Warning [br]• Please...do not cheat! You must avoid the temptation to peek at other student’s solutions or talk to your friends about this assignment. Furthermore, there are plenty of solutions on the internet - no peeking![br] [br] [br] [br] [br][br] [br] [br] [br] [br]
