Properties of the definite integral

The definite integral [math]\int_a^bf\left(x\right)dx[/math] is defined as the limit of Riemann sums [math]\sum_{k=1}^nf\left(c_k\right)\Delta x_k[/math] as the norm of the partition shrinks to zero. Because of this definition, certain properties follow. We explore several of these properties here.
