The walls of the van het mausoleum are decorated by S-shapes with kufic writing arranged by fout around a small square.[br]In the S-shapes you can reafd the name [i]Muhammad[/i]. Mostly, as the name of Allah, is inscribed in a square. This illustrates the flexibility to adapt the letters to the available space.[br]In the drawing below the figures are filled not only with the name of [i]Allah [/i]but also with the name of [i]Mohammed, [/i]which is is fact written in two different ways in the calligraphy: once elongated in an S-shape and once in a square.

The picture below shows how the decoration is integrated in the brick construction of the wall:[br]Coloured bricks (or thinner strips) are integrated into the layers or put upright in the brickwork to create horizontal as well vertical or oblique lines.
