Distance Description and Formula
is the numerical description of the distance between two points or objects. You can find the distance between two points by using the distance formula √(x2−x1)2+(y2−y1)2.[br][br][br]
Midpoint description and formula
The midpoint is the exact half of a line, half of the total distance. Like distance, there is a midpoint formula which is m= (x1+x2/2+y1+y2/2).[br][br]
Slope Description
Slope is the measure of steepness of a line, or a section of a line. You are able to find the slope of a line by the coordinates of the two points that lie on the line, which will be going into the slope formula (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1). Another way you are able to find the slope is using (rise / run), so how much further up the point is and the amount over it is.[br][br][br][br]
Slope-Intercept Form Explanation
Slope-Intercept Form is simply the way for writing the equation of a line, involving the slope and y-intercept. The Slope-Intercept Formula is y=mx+b, the (m) is the slope, (x) is the x-value, and (b) is the y-intercept of the line. [br]
Standard Form Explanation
Standard Form of a Linear Equation is Ax+By=C. Most commonly used when writing systems of linear equations. All lines are able to be written in standard form. Also since this equations shows where the values of x and y would be in A is zero there is no x-value, and if B is zero there is no y-intercept, all numbers are integers. [br][br]
Area Definition
Area is the extent or measurement of a surface. Most shapes have the same formula although for every shape there are different formulas.
Perimeter Definition
Perimeter is the numerical description of how long the distance around the outside of a shape. Perimeter can be found by adding the lengthes of a shape, with the exception of a circle.
