Wasted Space
Imagine you are a bee keeper (Apiarist). One day while gathering honey you notice that the honey is formed in perfect regular hexagons. You also see that there is a lot of wasted space in your hive, and you want to figure out how much space is being wasted. You pull out one of the sheets and lay it on the table. See image below:
The area in yellow are all the hexagons that have been filled with honey, whereas the white space is the space that has been wasted.
