Change the value of k and observe what happens to the image. [br][br]Answer the questions below. [br]
1)
For what value of k are the image and preimage the same?
2)
For what values of k does the image shrink?
3)
For what values of k does the image enlarge?
4)
Measure the angles (the middle tool drop down menu has an angle measure option) and compare the corresponding angles (i.e. the matching pairs). Change the slider and observe what happens to the values. What do you notice?
5)
Measure each side of both triangles (the middle tool drop down menu has a measure option - the arrow with cm). Compare the corresponding (i.e. matching) sides by making a ratio for each pair (set it up with image/pre-image). What do you notice?
6)
Measure the PERIMETER of each triangle (click the measure tool and then click INSIDE each triangle). Compare the figures by making a ratio of image/pre-image. What do you notice?
7)
Measure the AREA of each triangle (click the measure tool and then choose area and click inside each triangle). Compare the figures by making a ratio of image/pre-image. What do you notice?
