Paterson City Planning

Paterson is the first planned industrialized city in the United States. Alexander Hamilton and the Society of Useful Manufacturing (SUM) purchased 700 acres of land after the Revolutionary War ended and named it Paterson after New Jersey Governor, William Paterson. It was designed by Pierre Charles L'Enfant, the designer of Washington, DC. The marked location indicate early buildings in Paterson's history. Most have moved since.

1. Do the early building indicate the incenter of Paterson? Explain with either constructions or in words. 2. What would the vertices of the triangle be if they were moved to make the incenter more aligned with the early buildings? 3. Add some additional locations. Use geometry to justify the locations of the newer locations of important buildings
