[b]Purpose:[/b] This activity enables students to add fractions using modeling. [b]Instructions:[/b] -Create a new question by pressing the "Create New Question button" -Fractions appear in a modeled way in the activity. -Enter the answer to the question in the empty buttons and then press the "Check" button. -If the answer is correct, the answer is "Great Job :)", if the answer is wrong, the answer is "Opps, try again :(". -By pressing the "Hint" button, you can see how the problem was solved. - Fraction values are changed by using the numerator and denominator sliders above the models. In this way, the models of fractions are displayed and addition is performed. -Each time the "Create New Question" box is pressed, new number values and fractions are given. [i]IMPORTANT NOTE:[/i] A composite fraction consists of a whole number and a simple fraction. In the activity, the fraction models are set to show only simple and one whole fractions. Only the simple fraction part appears in the resulting model. For example, let's say the result is 9/8. In the resulting model, it appears that only 1/8 of the model is modeled (9/8=1+1/8). [b]Comprehensive Explanation for Teachers:[/b] This is an exercise that teachers can utilize in class. Students can model and add fractions with the help of this activity. Through playing sliders, students can observe fraction models and alter the values of fractions. With the aid of the model, pupils also comprehend the role played by the numerator and denominator.
