Directions
Move the points A and B around and look at how the formula is impacted.
1. Without using (0,0) as one of your ordered pairs, record an ordered pair for A ( , ) and and ordered pair for B ( , ) that creates a mid point of (4, 3).
2. Without using (0,0) as one of your ordered pairs, record an ordered pair for A ( , ) and and ordered pair for B ( , ) that creates a mid point of (-2, 5).
3. Without using (0,0) as one of your ordered pairs, record an ordered pair for A ( , ) and and ordered pair for B ( , ) that creates a mid point of (1, -3).
4. If you know point A is (3,-3) and the midpoint for line segment AB is (2, 6), what would the coordinates for point B be?
Be sure to use the included app to help answer this question.
5. Explain how you can figure out what the coordinates would be for one endpoint when you know one of the endpoints and the midpoint.
