Algebra Tiles - I (Factor Kids )

Algebra Tiles
Algebra tiles are mathematical manipulatives that allow students to better understand the way of algebraic thinking and concept.[br]Algebra tiles can be used as a model for factoring trinomials. When you multiply two binomials, your result is a trinomial.[br]We need area models to multiply binomials. Therefore, to be able to factor a trinomial using algebra tiles, you must first rearrange the tiles into the shape of a rectangle.
Learning Objective(s)
This lesson will teach students to factor trinomial expressions of the form [math]x^2+bx+c[/math], in which b and c are positive.
