Point tools

To defines the vertices of tiles in a 2D plan and/or in a 3D construction of a muqarnas, a set of point tools is useful to mark points on distances that match with the lengths of the sides. Working on a unit square grid, two distances in particular are useful: 1 and [math]\sqrt{2}[/math] in all directions. [br]A set of tools, grouped in a dropdown list, allows you to define a point on a distance 1 or [math]\sqrt{2}[/math] to the right, left, up or down of a clicked point. Just click on a point to create this point.
The last tool in the dropdown list allows you to define a point at a given horizontal and vertical distance of it. After clicking on a point dialogs open in which you can type the values for the horizontal and the vertical translation.

Amasya Bimarhane

Amasya is an ancient city with a long history that starts before the Roman times. It was also an important city in Ottoman times. Sultan Selim I was born there, for example. The Bimarhane mosque is located in Amasya. In the entrance portal, two small muqarnas are incorporated in the wall on the left and right. [br][br]This muqarnas follows the line "back on front" and has as exception only two half intermediate units.[br][br]This worksheet is part of my geogebra book on Muqarnas.[br]More information is available on my website Muqarnas/Amasya.[br][br]Below, you can see the design of this muqarnas. Use the slider to investigate this muqarnas level by level in order to check which basic elements are involved. For design purposes, each element has been given a different color. Drag the slider to the right for a view in a shiny white color.[br][br]You can create a muqarnas yourself in the GeoGebra book Muqarnas Tool.© Dick OssemanMore information is available at Archnet/Amasya Bimarhanesi[br]
