Exploring the SSS Triangle Condition in Spherical Geometry
In this activity we are exploring the SSS (Side-Side-Side) Triangle Condition in Spherical Geometry. Adjust the three lengths for the sides of a triangle by the sliders and/or input boxes. [br][br]Are there any conditions where there is no triangle possible for the chosen length? If so, what conditions do the lengths have to have in order for a triangle to exist?[br][br]If such a triangle exists, then how many different congruence classes (different sizes of triangles) may result? [br][br]If two triangles exist and they have three corresponding pairs of congruent sides, do the two triangles have to be congruent?
