Answer
Rubber is also part of food. Gum base (rubber of synthetic or natural origin) is often a part of chewing gum. While there is no rubber in gummi bears they contain gelatine or agra agar which also forms a rubber like network. Here is a recipe to make your own gummi bears.
What you need:
50 ml fruit syrup[br]50 ml water[br]6 tee spoons of gelatine powder or the equivalent vegan substitute (agar agar).[br]1- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice[br][br][br]
What do you have to do?
1 Put gelatine into a small pot and add cold water.[br][br]2 Let soak for 5-10 minutes[br][br]3 Carefully heat soaked gelatine over water bath while stiring. [br][br]CAUTION: Do not cook the gleatine!!![br][br]4 Mix fruit syrup and lemon juice in a second pot and heat up.[br][br]5 Pour hot fruit syrup into dissolved gelatine [br][br]6 Cast mix in ice cube forms and put in refridgerator for minumum 1h.[br]
