Comparison of GeoGebra Math Apps
With our GeoGebra math apps you can explore and learn functions, geometry, algebra, statistics and 3D in new and interactive ways.
The right app for you is the one that meets your own needs and, if used in tests, fulfills exam regulations of your region. The following table gives an overview of which features are available in which apps.

GeoGebra in Exams
We believe that students benefit from using the exact same GeoGebra app in class, for homework and during tests. This way, they will get the most practice with the app and therefore be able to make the best use of our technology in all situations. That's why we have created our GeoGebra Exam Mode and added it within each one of our apps. The exam mode locks down mobile devices so students cannot communicate or use any other apps than GeoGebra during a test. This approach has already been field-tested and approved by several ministries of education in several regions. Read more about how to use GeoGebra in exams.
Intersection of functions
Task
Create a linear function with sliders and intersect it with a quadratic function.
Explore the construction and learn how to create a function with parameters and how to intersect two functions with GeoGebra Graphing Calculator. Then try it yourself by following the instructions below.
Explore the construction...

Instructions
1. | | Enter the linear function into the Input Bar. Sliders for variables a and b will be created automatically. |
2. | | Enable the ![]() |
3. | | Change the values of the sliders for a and b and explore how the graph of f(x) adapts to your changes. |
4. | | Create a quadratic function by entering into the Input Bar. |
5. | | Use the command to create the intersection points of f(x) and g(x). The intersection points A and B are displayed in the Graphics View, while the coordinates of the points are shown in the Algebra View. |
| ![]() | Note: You may use the Intersect tool from the Tools View and select the two functions as well to create the intersection points. |
6. | | Move the sliders for a and b and explore how the intersection points A and B adapt to your changes. |
7. | | Select the graph of f(x) and g(x) and change the color of the function graphs using the Style Bar to enhance your construction. |

Complex numbers
Task
Determine a complex number and change the coordinates of the complex number to polar coordinates.
Explore the construction and learn how to visualize complex numbers on a polar coordinate grid with GeoGebra Graphing Calculator. Then try it yourself by following the instructions below.
Explore the construction...

Instructions
1. | ![]() | In the Algebra View open the Input Help and choose Text. |
2. | | Copy the following text into the Input Bar and press Enter: |
| | CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.HSN.CNB.4 Represent complex numbers on the complex plane in rectangular and polar form (including real and imaginary numbers), and explain why the rectangular and polar form of a given complex number represent the same number. |
3. | ![]() | Open the Tools View and search for the Complex Number tool. Select this tool and click anywhere inside the Graphics View to create a complex number. Note: The complex number will automatically be labeled z1 and its coordinates will be displayed in the Algebra View. |
4. | ![]() | Open the global settings and change the font size. |
5. | ![]() ![]() | Select the complex number in the Graphics View and change its settings. In the label menu mark Show Value. Change the point size as well. Note: In the Mobile App open the context menu by pressing the More button. Then on Set caption style select Value. |
6. | ![]() | Enter into the Input Bar, press Enter and hide the new complex number by selecting the enabled Visibility button on the left. |
7. | ![]() | In the Algebra View open the context menu by pressing the More button of z2 and select Settings. Open the tab Algebra. Change the coordinates into Polar Coordinates and close the settings. The complex number z2 will now be displayed in polar coordinates in the Algebra View. Note: In the Mobile App enter in order to show its polar coordinates in the Algebra View. |
8. | ![]() | Move the point z1 in the Graphics View and explore how the values change in the Algebra View. |
9. | ![]() | Open the Settings and select Show Grid. Activate a Polar grid. Note: In the Mobile App select Show Grid and change Grid Type to Polar. |
