Lesson 15 Preview: Parametric Equations

Parametch-A-Sketch
We know that there are many curves in the plane that do not represent functions (e.g., a circle). However, if we imagine a point moving around the curve, its position is a function of time (you can't be in two places at once). So, we can think of time as the input of the function and each coordinate as a function of time. [br][br]Move the sliders to turn the knobs manually. Change the equation in the box next to each knob to have the knobs follow them when you press START. (You should set the sliders to zero when using the automatic drawing feature). Screen scale is restricted to 0-6 for y and 0-9 for x.
