In this learning unit, students will explore the fundamental concepts of flat shapes, including types of polygons and their properties. They will learn how to calculate the perimeter and area of basic two-dimensional figures such as triangles, rectangles, and circles. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the relationship between shape, size, and space. For the final product, students will create a [b]tangram[/b], a geometric puzzle made up of seven flat shapes, demonstrating their ability to apply the concepts of area and perimeter while enhancing their spatial reasoning and creativity.
