Horizontal and Slope Lines

The Slope and Contour curve
The contour lines (or curves) of a surface are the sections of this surface by the horizontal planes (i.e. perpendicular to the vertical direction). The contour lines of a plane are called horizontal (principal) lines.[br]Contours are one of several common methods used to denote elevation or altitude and depth on maps. [br]Contour lines of topographic surface are closed curves surrounding summits or immits.[br]Contour lines at surface of equal slope (plane, cone,...) are equidistant.[br][br]The slope lines ( = lines of the steepest descent) cut at right angles the contour lines; and this property applies also to the top view projection.
Horizontal and slope lines in a plane
Plane [math]\alpha[/math] is given by points GHI on the cube. Horizontal projection plane [math]\pi[/math] is blue face of a cube, frontal projection plane [math]\nu[/math] is red face. The base (ground) line x12 is intersection line of projection planes, i.e.[math]x12=\pi\cap\nu[/math]. Trace lines of the planes n, p are lines where the plane [math]\alpha[/math] meets the planes of projections, i.e. [math]p=\alpha\cap\pi[/math] and [math]n=\alpha\cap\nu[/math].[br]

Horizontal line h of a plane is parallel to the blue face. [/*]
The line of steepest descent s (=slope line) is perpendicular to the horizontal line h. This line determines the slope angle of the plane. Line in a plane

Plane in 3D space is uniquelly given by:[br]3 non collinear points [icon]/images/ggb/toolbar/mode_polygon.png[/icon][br]2 intersecting lines [icon]/images/ggb/toolbar/mode_intersect.png[/icon][br]2 parallel lines; line an point [icon]/images/ggb/toolbar/mode_parallel.png[/icon][br]Remember that if two lines intersect, they have a single point in common, and that point must project from view to view. This property is very usefull for construction of missing view of object in the plane.[br]
GeoGebra 4035
Plane α is given by two intersecting lines a, b. Construct the front view of line m in the plane α =(a, b).
Trace lines of the planes are intersection line of the given plane and the drowing frontal and horizontal planes. Trace lines provides pictorial representation of the plane convinient for many contructions, e.g. intersection with other objects, determining the tru size.

Isometric projection

Isometric projection is an axonometric projection in which the three coordinate axes appear equally foreshortened and the angle between any two of them is 120 degrees.
Change the dimensions of the element by moving the blue points in top and front view.

Kosoúhlé promítání a pravoúhlá axonometrie

Dimetrie a Izometrie

Cycloid

Cycloid is the curve traced by a point on a circle as it rolls along a straight line without slipping. A cycloid is an example of a roulette, a curve generated by a curve rolling on another curve.[br]Cykloidy jsou trajektkorie bodů při odvalování kružnice h po přímce p. Linear Perspective of the Cube

Horizon line, directly opposite the viewer's eye, represents objects infinitely far away. They have shrunk, in the distance, to the infinitesimal thickness of a line. It is analogous to (and named after) the Earth's horizon.[br][br]Any perspective representation of a scene that includes parallel lines has one or more vanishing points in a perspective drawing. A one-point perspective drawing means that the drawing has a single vanishing point, usually (though not necessarily) directly opposite the viewer's eye and usually on the horizon line. All lines parallel with the viewer's line of sight recede to the horizon towards this vanishing point. A two-point drawing would have lines parallel to two different angles.
