Impact
Research in mathematics education, both at national and international level, has reached a significant relevance. In particular, the use of e-learning platforms to support teaching/learning processes is increasingly widespread due to the tools offered by these environments and the easiness of their integration with other technologies (Albano & Dello Iacono, 2019b). Results, however, are often unknown to teachers and there is still a wide gap between the academic research and the school practice. The main result of this project should be a methodology for the engineering of VCBLA, by means of UFI, so that VCLBA should be easily accessible and usable by teachers or trainers and both teachers and students from local area can benefit of them. The project, therefore, could have a strong local territorial impact reducing the gap between the school context and scientific research. On the one hand, teachers in the local area could experiment VCBLA as new methodologies and educational strategies aimed at developing students’ mathematical capabilities. On the other hand, researchers could collect new data from VCBLA experimentations with territorial students, useful to further study progress. This project could also extend its results to the business and vocational training fields, where capabilities development is a strongly felt need.
