The Shoemaker's Knife

Historically, shoemakers used a knife called an ‘arbelos’ which looks a little like the region enclosed by three semi-circles. The region is called the Shoemaker’s Knife and has interested mathematicians for many years. Archimedes (287 – 212) first recorded his investigations of the shape.
