Exploring Mark Ups and Mark Downs Graphically

Students can use sliders to explore and solve percent problems. This provides a connection between percents and graphs of proportional relationships. For example, students can see how much the actual amount of a mark up is affected by the original amount and by the percent of mark up. Note: The sliders only go up to 200 in this activity, so not all percents are possible, especially when exploring mark-ups. For example, 150/50 = 300% is not possible.
