Quadrilateral 5

Step 1: Create both diagonals of this quadrilateral, show the measures of the diagonals. List all similarities and differences of these diagonals and the diagonals of parallelograms. Step 2: Create all four interior angles of the quadrilateral, show the measures of the angles. List all similarities and differences of these angles and the angles of parallelograms. Step 3: Display the measures of the sides of the quadrilateral. List all similarities and differences of the sides and the sides of parallelograms. Step 4: Display the slopes of the sides of the quadrilateral. List all similarities and differences of the slopes and the sides of parallelograms. What type of quadrilateral is this? Step 5: Create a midsegment of this quadrilateral - unsure how, search the internet for midsegment of a trapezoid. Display the length of the midsegment and the lengths of the bases of the trapezoid. What can you determine about the relationship of the three segments? Discuss your thoughts with a few classmates. Write a hypothesis about this relationship. List everything you know about trapezoids. What do you think an isosceles trapezoid would look like? Create an isosceles trapezoid and investigate all of the same relationships you have looked at in this investigation. What are the differences and similarities?
