Modelling of Tidal Height vs Time (Trigonometric Function)

This is a mathematical modelling activity under the topic of periodic functions (trigonometric functions) The objectives are 1. To find the appropriate trigonometric function that can represent and model the relationship between two variables in a given set of data, 2. To apply the knowledge of amplitude, period and axis of the curve of trigonometric functions, and to use ICT tools, to facilitate the modeling and mathematical problem solving. The worksheet and the complete table of values from 0 to 24 hours may be found at : https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8UevKhlhG9nNk9hVzlUOXc5LUk/edit?usp=sharing The lesson plan is found at https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8UevKhlhG9nMTdCRV9TYnpMb1U/edit?usp=sharing I have added a simulation showing the water level changing with time at http://tube.geogebra.org/material/show/id/2750001
