29. Castillon's Problem

Inscribe in a circle a triangle whose sides pass through three given points. (1 of 2) Step-by-step solution using the Construction Protocol. This is problem #29 of Heinrich Dörrie's 100 Great Problems of Elementary Mathematics. Dörrie attributes this solution to Giordano Vitale. I have not reproduced the reasoning leading to this approach, but the necessary relationships can be highlighted in the final diagram. _____ *This construciton is unreliable if one of the points (in this case, C) lies outside the circle. The problem is better described by swinging a line from side to side: Solution 2, Steiner: http://www.geogebratube.org/material/show/id/55007
