Cosine and sine of an angle [math]θ[/math] are defined to be the [math]x[/math] and [math]y[/math]-coordinates of the point [math]P[/math] on the unit circle with the property that the line from [math]O[/math] to [math]P[/math] makes and angle [math]θ[/math] with the positive [math]x[/math]-axis.
