UCSS Math II 5.8.2 Example 4

An airplane flies in a straight line along a course defined by an angle [math]\theta[/math], such that [math]\theta = 0[/math] represents due east. The plane takes off from the origin, (0, 0), and travels in a straight line along [math]\theta = \frac{5\pi}{3}[/math]. If the plane continues along this course and lands 100 miles to the east of the origin, how many total miles has the plane traveled?
