Lesson 9.2: Area of Any Trapezoid

This applet contains a powerful visual in which a trapezoid is transformed into a triangle. Students should see that the area of the triangle formed and the original trapezoid are equal, thus aiding them in writing the formula for the area of the original trapezoid.
