Moving the sliders gives the student some basic information, such as, monthly payment, total amount paid towards the loan and the total interest paid. But more than this, students should observe the changes in the spreadsheet as the sliders are moved and can gain much information about how much is still owed, how much of the payment goes to interest, how much of the payment goes to the principal and when the student is done paying.
