Constructing a Pythagorean Scale

This applet illustrates the family of "Pythagorean" scales. Beginning with a root note and ending with this note played an octave higher, we fill in the scale by adding notes that are either a perfect fourth (4/3 of the frequency) or a perfect fifth (3/2 of the frequency) above existing notes. All notes are normalized to appear in the correct octave (by doubling or halving the frequency as necessary).
