Cycloid

A cycloid is the curve traced by a point on the rim of a circular wheel as the wheel rolls along a straight line without slippage. The cycloid through the origin, generated by a circle of radius r, consists of the points (x, y), with x=r(t-sent) y=r(1-cost) where t is a real parameter, corresponding to the angle through which the rolling circle has rotated, measured in radians.
