(Part 1 of 3) - In these lessons, students will investigate the underlying geometric ideas that soccer players and coaches use to improve playing on the field. In particular, they will investigate the properties of dilations, how the amount of field blocked is dependent on the center of dilation, positioning, and scale factor. They will also look at how the width of different angles determines the difficulty of different shots & test positioning designs.
