Projectile Peak Height versus Initial Vertical Velocity

A projectile fired vertical reaches (neglecting friction) a maximum height determined by its initial velocity. This applet allows the exploration of the velocities needed to achieve specified error tolerances in the achieved height. Setting the tolerance value for the height (in meters) produces an interval of velocities that achieve heights within the allowed tolerance.
