Fractions on Number Line

No distinction is made between proper and improper fractions. Students are asked to use their imagination for the abstract ideas of an infinitely long number line and choosing an infinite number of denominators. A good opportunity for a teacher led discussion. There is a point on the number line for every fraction but there are points on the number line that are not the location of a fraction. Irrational numbers like pi and the square root of two are not fractions but they have points on the number line.
