Circle of Circles

These aren’t especially new, but still fun to play with. I saw a gif at amseastan.tumblr that sparked today’s experiment. There’s an interesting optical illusion. When the circles are traveling in and out from the center to a stationary point, it looks as if the arrangement is turning. This sketch lets you play with how many lobes, how many circles, circle size, how much of each loop is filled with the circles, and whether the circles travel on turning radii or stationary.
