I have been a member of the math department at LASA High School in Austin Texas since 2008. Before that I taught at various times at Suffolk Community College in New York, Edina High School in Edina, MN, and with the UMTYMP program at the University of Minnesota, TC. I grew up in Houston, TX and attended Bellaire High School in Houston and The University of Texas in Austin. I view mathematics as an intellectual and artistic pursuit that can offer students of any background or aptitude a source of respite and beauty in a sometimes chaotic world. My classes tend to focus on logical argument and geometric reasoning over computational proficiency. As for my hobbies - I take about a million photographs. I love the Astros and I don't want to talk about trashcans. I believe Jose Altuve is a national treasure. I have two kids who both play competitive travel softball (which is maybe the best sport ever invented). I have a large yellow dog who sheds too much.
