Hello. My name is Dr Emily Maitland. I am a British postgraduate currently training to be a Secondary Mathematics Teacher.
I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester, graduating in 2011 with a MPhys (Hons) in Physics. I then joined the Centre for Complexity Science at the University of Warwick, obtaining an MSc in Complex Systems Science in 2012 before starting my PhD at the same department. I submitted my thesis in 2016 and finally graduated in 2017 with my PhD thesis being written on Models of Feedback and Information Processing in Stochastic Thermodynamics. It's a long and mostly boring read.
Since 2017 until early 2019 I have lived in Kyoto, Japan where I was an English teacher. I loved living in a country with such a rich culture as Japan and would love to return some day.
